Mum finds God

10 x 8 (1)

My name is  Gill. I am married to Rob and mum to Beth and Aiden.

I grew up in a Methodist church and loved being part of its Girls Brigade. As I went through the ranks, I began to consider that God might be real. I knew I was missing something, but couldn't quite work out what.

In my 20s, I was invited to another church where everyone seemed to have the personal relationship with God that I was lacking.  Always being a cautious one, I watched and took my time; I knew I would eventually make a decision to follow Christ. When I finally did, it all clicked.

When Aiden, my son, started attending Chester Road Boys Brigade, something kept pulling me in. Last year was traumatic. I lost my mum and both of Rob's parents. My peace had evaporated, but every time I got a chance to come to Chester Road Baptist Church, my peace was restored. That gentle encouragement meant such a lot.

Living with a family of autistic members means life is challenging, never dull. But somehow God is always right in the thick of it. Though I could have gone under, God keeps me sane. Praise God!

Gill is part of the growing community that is Chester Road Baptist Church. Whatever your story, we'd love to welcome you too!
