James - faith in action
The Letter of James can be misunderstood, and therefore is often overlooked. James tells it how he sees it. It's no ‘soft Gospel’. He doesn’t say, “Come to Jesus and all your problems will disappear.” James' core message is: show patient perseverance during trials and temptations. There is no easy route to holiness. The holiness he calls people to is to be lived in the ‘real world’ – be immersed in it, just don’t succumb to it. For James, faith is practical. Live it!
